A Slow Day in The Wildflower Field:

What Your Visit Could Look Like
Come for coffee.
Wander through the flowers.
Make something if you feel like it.
Sit awhile.
There is no right way to spend time in The Wildflower Field.
Imagine this.
It's Saturday morning.
You don't have somewhere you have to be.
For once, you're not rushing from one thing to the next.
You've messaged Mum, your daughter or a friend and said:
“Want to go out to The Wildflower Field?”
Maybe you've seen it online.
You've watched this slightly wild idea growing from paddock to place.
Flowers.
Horses.
Creativity.
Coffee.
And you've been wondering:
“What would we actually DO when we got there?”
The answer?
As much...
or as little...
as you like.
Because I don't want a visit to The Wildflower Field to feel like another activity you need to complete.
I want it to feel like you've stepped through the gate and, for a little while...
you can slow down.
So come with me.
Let me show you what a slow day in The Wildflower Field might look like.
First... you arrive in the country
Before you've made anything...
before you've ordered coffee...
before you've even decided where you're going to sit...
I hope you notice that things already feel a little different.
There's space.
Sky.
Flowers.
The sounds of the property.
Maybe a horse watching you from the paddock.
And depending on the season, the Field might look completely different from the last photo you saw.
Because this isn't a perfectly styled indoor venue.
It's a living place.
Things grow.
Flowers bloom.
Weather happens.
Horses do horse things.
And occasionally nature will completely ignore whatever plan I had for it.
That's part of the experience.
Have a wander before you decide anything
You don't need to walk through the gate and immediately think:
“RIGHT. WHAT ARE WE DOING?”
Have a look around.
See what's blooming.
Notice what's happening that day.
Perhaps something at the Creative Bar catches your eye.
Maybe you spot the Gathering Table.
Perhaps the children have already discovered something interesting.
Maybe you simply think:
Coffee first.
Excellent decision.
There is no Wildflower Field itinerary.
Follow your curiosity.

Find your way to Gather & Graze
Now we're talking.
Gather & Graze is our little food, coffee and creative heart within The Wildflower Field.
Order your coffee.
Choose something delicious.
Maybe it's a cookie.
Maybe something from our grazing offering.
Perhaps there's something special happening that day.
Then find somewhere that feels good.
Sit.
Take in the Field.
Talk.
And please...
don't feel like you need to rush because you've finished your coffee.
Stay awhile.
That's kind of the point.
Maybe coffee is the entire visit
This needs saying.
Because I know some people will look at everything we're creating and think:
“Do I have to do an activity?”
No.
You can come to Gather & Graze and simply enjoy coffee, food and the Field.
You don't have to make art.
You don't have to journal.
You don't have to join a workshop.
You don't have to connect with a horse.
You don't have to have a spiritual experience before you leave.
You are absolutely allowed to think:
“That was a lovely coffee.”
and go home.
The deeper Wildflower world is there to explore.
It is never something you have to participate in.
But then you notice the Creative Bar...
This is how I imagine it happening.
You're halfway through your coffee.
You've been chatting.
And something catches your eye.
Beautiful papers.
Botanicals.
A little creative tray.
Paint.
Journals.
Perhaps that week's Wildflower Lesson.
You wander over.
Pick something up.
And then comes the thought I am secretly hoping for:
“Ooooh... we could do this.”
That's the magic of the Creative Bar.
You don't necessarily arrive planning to create.
Creativity simply becomes one of the possibilities available while you're here.
Pull up a chair at the Gathering Table
So now perhaps your coffee moves with you.
You've chosen something to make.
You find a place at the Gathering Table.
There's paper everywhere.
Someone needs the glue.
Your friend has changed her mind approximately four times.
You've somehow ended up with paint on your hand.
And the thing you're making looks nothing like what you imagined.
Perfect.
Because the Gathering Table isn't about producing perfect artwork.
It's about what happens while you're sitting there.
Creating.
Talking.
Laughing.
Trying.
Sharing supplies.
Maybe meeting someone new.
Maybe saying something you hadn't planned to say.
Maybe saying nothing important at all.
Sometimes the making is simply what gives us a reason to stay around the table a little longer.
Maybe you try a Wildflower Lesson
If you don't know where to start, that's where our Wildflower Lessons come in.
Little creative seeds.
One technique.
One idea.
One place to begin.
Maybe you're layering vintage papers.
Using botanicals.
Playing with coffee stains.
Making something with pressed flowers.
Creating a journal page.
You don't need to know what you're doing.
The lesson simply gives you the first step.
Then you decide where it goes.
This is the creative heart of The Wildflower Method:
Start small. Stay curious. See what grows.

Find Your 15...
or accidentally find your 90
This is quite possibly going to happen.
You think:
“I'll just do this for fifteen minutes.”
Then someone orders another coffee.
You add one more thing to your page.
Your friend isn't finished.
You start talking.
And suddenly you've been there far longer than you planned.
Wonderful.
But equally...
if you only have fifteen minutes?
That counts too.
Find Your 15 isn't about how long you stay.
It's about giving yourself permission to stop doing everything else for a little while.
Sometimes fifteen minutes is enough to change the pace of the whole day.
If you've brought Little Wildflowers...
They might be having an entirely different experience.
And that's how it should be.
Children don't need much encouragement to be curious.
They already understand the Wildflower Method better than most grown-ups.
They make.
Explore.
Collect.
Notice.
Ask questions.
Change direction halfway through.
And don't spend twenty minutes wondering whether they're creative enough before touching the paint.
Our Little Wildflower experiences will give children opportunities to create, explore nature, play and use their imaginations.
And perhaps they'll remind us grown-ups how to do some of that too.
Then maybe it's time to wander
You've been sitting for a while.
So take your coffee and go for a wander.
Look at what's flowering.
Notice the little things.
Something buzzing.
A flower that wasn't there last week.
The wind moving through the Field.
The smell of the garden.
Maybe take photos.
Maybe don't.
Maybe pick a place to sit.
You don't need to turn the walk into anything.
You don't need to count your steps.
You don't need to listen to a podcast.
You don't need to make it productive.
Just wander.
This is The Wildflower Method too
I think this is important.
The Wildflower Method isn't something that only happens when we're sitting with a journal.
It's not a worksheet.
It's not something you have to perform correctly.
It's a way of creating little moments where we:
slow down, notice, create and connect.
Sometimes that happens through paper and paint.
Sometimes through conversation.
Sometimes through flowers.
Sometimes beside a horse.
Sometimes sitting quietly.
And sometimes through the deeper experiences of the Wildflower Soul Sanctuary.
The Field lets you experience these things rather than simply read about them.
And yes... you'll probably see the horses
You may look across and see them.
Maybe they come over to investigate.
Maybe they're far too busy eating to care that you're there.
The horses are part of life at The Wildflower Field.
But seeing them doesn't mean you've accidentally signed yourself up for horse therapy.
You can simply enjoy watching them.
For those who want to explore further, our Wildflower Connection experiences will offer intentional opportunities to spend time with the horses from the ground.
No riding required.
No horse experience required.
Just presence, curiosity and connection.
But that's another garden path.
Today...
you might simply wave at Maggie while finishing your coffee.
That's allowed too.

Maybe you discover something you'd like to come back for
While you're wandering, perhaps you see what's coming up.
A creative workshop.
A Field Day.
A mother + daughter experience.
A seasonal Gathering.
A guest maker.
A Wildflower Soul Sanctuary session.
A horse connection experience.
A retreat.
And something makes you stop.
“Ooooh. I'd love that.”
This is another part of what I want The Wildflower Field to become.
Not somewhere you visit once.
Somewhere that gives you reasons to return.
Because the Field will keep changing.
Different flowers.
Different seasons.
Different Wildflower Lessons.
Different experiences.
Different reasons to gather.
Some days might turn into evenings
And then there will be those special days when nobody is quite ready to go home.
The light changes.
The Field softens.
Perhaps Thelma is open.
Maybe there's something lovely to drink.
Food to graze on.
Music.
A fire.
Friends gathered together.
One of our sunset experiences.
The daytime creative energy shifts into something slower again.
And suddenly The Wildflower Field feels completely different.
Same place.
Different moment.
That's one of the things I love most about what we're growing.
It doesn't have to be just one thing.
And sometimes you'll come because you need something quieter
Not every visit will be social.
Maybe you've had a huge week.
You don't particularly want to talk.
You want coffee.
Your journal.
A quiet corner.
Flowers.
That's okay too.
Or perhaps you've chosen one of our deeper Wildflower Soul Sanctuary experiences.
Meditation.
Sound.
Reiki or energy work.
Creative reflection.
Horse connection.
A retreat.
Those experiences have a different intention from a casual day in the Field.
They're invitations to step a little further away from everyday life.
But they grow from the same roots:
Space to slow down and reconnect.

You don't have to experience everything
This is probably the most important part of this entire blog.
The Wildflower Field has lots of branches.
And I don't want that to make it feel complicated.
You don't need to do them all.
You don't need to work your way through:
Coffee → Creative Bar → Journal → Horse → Reiki → Retreat → Enlightenment.
Absolutely not.
Choose what feels good.
You might only ever love Gather & Graze.
Wonderful.
You might come because your children adore Little Wildflowers.
Wonderful.
Maybe the Creative Bar becomes your happy place.
Wonderful.
Maybe you discover the horses.
Wonderful.
Maybe one day you're drawn to the deeper Wildflower Soul Sanctuary work.
Wonderful.
There is no correct path through this garden.
Perhaps the real luxury is having nowhere else to be
We often think of luxury as something expensive.
But the older I get, the more I wonder whether one of the greatest luxuries is simply:
time that isn't spoken for.
An hour where nobody needs you.
Coffee you get to drink while it's hot.
A conversation you don't need to cut short.
Time to make something.
A slow wander.
Sitting amongst flowers.
Watching horses in a paddock.
Staying another half-hour simply because you want to.
That's the kind of richness I want The Wildflower Field to hold.
Not more to do.
More room to be.
So what should you plan for your first visit?
My suggestion?
Very little.
Come with someone you love.
Or come by yourself.
Wear something comfortable.
Bring your journal if you'd like.
Then arrive curious.
Start with coffee.
Have a wander.
See what's blooming.
Look at what's available at the Creative Bar.
Create if you feel like it.
Sit if you don't.
Talk.
Eat something.
Stay awhile.
And follow whichever little path catches your attention that day.
Maybe you'll leave with something you've made.
Maybe you'll leave with flowers.
Maybe you'll book your next Gathering.
Maybe you'll discover a Wildflower experience you'd like to try.
Or maybe you'll leave with absolutely nothing except the thought:
“I really needed that.”
That would be more than enough.
Your invitation
When The Wildflower Field opens its gates, don't feel like you need to understand everything before you come.
This place is meant to be experienced, not completed.
Come for Gather & Graze.
Come for the flowers.
Come because you're curious about the Creative Bar.
Come to spend time with someone you love.
Come because you need to get out of the house.
Come because you've been staring at a screen all week.
Come because something about this slightly wild idea makes you think:
“I'd like to be there.”
That's enough reason.
We'll have the coffee ready.
The flowers can do their thing.
And you can decide the rest when you get here.
Follow The Wildflower Field as we prepare to open the gates — and keep an eye out for our first Field Days, Gather & Graze experiences, Wildflower Lessons, workshops and Gatherings.
Gather • Create • Connect
Come for an hour. Stay for the feeling. Wander at your own pace.
