Karuah Horses Wildflower Connection — Where Connection Begins

Sep 11
6 min read

There is something about standing beside a horse that asks you to come back to yourself.

They don’t care what you achieved today.

They don’t care whether the washing is folded, whether you answered every message, whether your business is growing fast enough or whether you have everything figured out.

They simply meet you where you are.

And sometimes, that is exactly what we need.

Welcome to Karuah Horses Wildflower Connection, a beautiful part of The Wildflower Method where women are invited to slow down, step into the paddock and experience connection in a completely different way.

Not by doing more.

Not by trying harder.

But by learning to notice, listen and simply be.

Meet Morgan

Morgan has grown up surrounded by horses.

For her, horses have never simply been animals that you ride. They are individuals with their own personalities, boundaries, moods and ways of communicating.

She has spent years learning to read the little things.

The shift of an ear.

A change in breathing.

A horse choosing to step closer.

Or choosing to step away.

The softness that comes when pressure is released.

The moment a horse decides that perhaps it can trust you.

Morgan's natural understanding of horses is at the heart of Karuah Horses Wildflower Connection.

Her role isn't to teach you how to ride.

It is to help create a safe space where you can begin discovering what a horse might teach you about yourself.

This isn't about riding

One of the most important things to understand about our Wildflower Connection sessions is that you don't need to know anything about horses.

You don't need to be confident around them.

And you certainly don't need to know how to ride.

Much of the magic happens with our feet firmly planted on the ground.

You might spend time observing a horse in the paddock.

You might groom.

You might lead.

You might explore pressure and release.

You might simply stand quietly nearby and notice what happens inside your own body.

Because connection doesn't always need words.

Sometimes it begins with stillness.

Horses notice the things we have learnt to hide

As women, we become incredibly good at saying:

"I'm fine."

We keep going.

We smile.

We look after everyone else.

We push through discomfort.

We override our boundaries.

And sometimes we become so accustomed to doing it that we don't even realise how disconnected we have become from ourselves.

A horse doesn't need the polished version of you.

They respond to what is happening right now.

Your energy.

Your movement.

Your intention.

Your boundaries.

Your ability to listen.

Your willingness to soften.

And that can create some incredibly beautiful moments of awareness.

Not because the horse gives you an answer.

But because they give you an opportunity to notice.

Connection before correction

There is a phrase I keep coming back to:

Connection before correction.

We spend so much of our lives trying to fix ourselves.

Be more productive.

Be more confident.

Be less emotional.

Stop overthinking.

Get organised.

Try harder.

But what if we didn't begin with fixing?

What if we began with connection?

That is one of the seeds behind the Karuah Horses Wildflower Connection.

Before asking, "What do I need to change?"

we can ask:

What am I noticing?

What am I feeling?

Where am I holding tension?

Am I asking clearly for what I need?

Am I respecting my own boundaries?

Can I stay present when something feels uncertain?

A horse can become a beautiful mirror for those questions.

When Connection Goes Deeper

There is another beautiful layer to the work we are beginning to explore here at Karuah — energy healing alongside the horses.

If you have ever stood quietly beside a horse, you may already understand what I mean. Before a word is spoken, there is a feeling.

A softness.

An awareness of breath, body language, emotion and the energy we bring into the space.

Horses invite us to notice.

They notice when we are rushing.

They notice when our body is tense even though our mouth says, “I’m fine.” And they have this extraordinary way of encouraging us to become quieter, more present and more aware of what is happening within ourselves.

This is where Karuah Horses, The Wildflower Method and Wildflower Soul Sanctuary begin to gently intertwine.

Horses + The Wildflower Method

At the heart of The Wildflower Method is a simple invitation to come back to yourself through six doors — Create, Move, Connect, Energy, Be Still and Reflect.

Working with the horses naturally touches so many of them.

We connect with another living being.

We move and become aware of our bodies.

We explore energy and what we are carrying into the space.

We learn to be still enough to notice.

And afterwards, we may reflect through journaling, Soul Inquiry or simply sitting quietly amongst the flowers.

There doesn't need to be a rigid line between each part.

Just like a wildflower garden, one experience can gently grow into another.

Where Wildflower Soul Sanctuary Fits

Wildflower Soul Sanctuary is the energy-healing heart of this work.

Rather than creating a traditional healing room separated from everything else we are building, I want the Sanctuary to feel connected to the land, the horses and nature — because that is where this work feels most like us.

Some experiences may include Reiki, meditation, sound, breathwork or quiet energetic practices alongside the horses.

Others may simply involve standing beside a horse, placing a hand on their shoulder, noticing your breath and allowing yourself a few minutes where absolutely nothing is required of you.

The horse isn't there to “fix” you.

And neither are we.

It is about creating a safe, gentle space where you can become curious about what you are feeling, reconnect with yourself and perhaps hear the quieter parts of you that everyday life has been drowning out.

That is really what The Wildflower Method is about — creating the conditions in which you can begin to bloom in your own way.

A horse doesn't need you to be perfect

This might be my favourite part.

You don't have to arrive confident.

You don't have to know what you're doing.

You don't have to have the right words.

You can arrive nervous.

Curious.

Quiet.

Unsure.

You can arrive carrying a whole week on your shoulders.

There is room for all of it.

The invitation is simply to become curious about what unfolds.

Because just like a wildflower doesn't force itself to bloom, connection cannot be forced either.

We create the conditions.

We nurture the soil.

We give it space.

And then we allow something to grow.

Part of The Wildflower Method

Karuah Horses Wildflower Connection sits beautifully within CONNECT, one of the six doors of The Wildflower Method:

CREATE · MOVE · CONNECT · ENERGY · BE STILL · REFLECT

The horses give us another pathway into connection.

Connection with an animal.

Connection with nature.

Connection with the present moment.

And ultimately, connection with ourselves.

Some sessions may include quiet reflection or journaling. Others may involve simple activities with a horse. Sometimes the most powerful moment might be the one nobody planned at all.

That is why we don't want these experiences to feel overly scripted.

There is a framework underneath them, but there is also space for the horse, the person and the moment to guide what happens next.

You don't have to be a horse person

Maybe you have loved horses your entire life.

Maybe you haven't been near one since you were a child.

Maybe the thought of standing beside one makes you a little nervous.

That's okay.

Karuah Horses Wildflower Connection isn't really about becoming a horse person.

It's about giving yourself an opportunity to experience what happens when the noise becomes quieter, the phone stays away and your only job for a little while is to notice.

To notice the horse.

To notice nature.

And perhaps to notice something within yourself that has been trying to get your attention for a very long time.

Sometimes we don't need another person telling us what to do.

Sometimes we simply need enough space to hear ourselves again.

And perhaps, standing quietly beside a horse amongst the wildflowers is a beautiful place to begin.

Come and connect with us

Karuah Horses Wildflower Connection will be part of the experiences growing here at Karuah Blooms, alongside Gather & Graze and The Wildflower Method.

Morgan and I can't wait to share more of the horses with you, introduce you to their very different personalities and show you some of the simple practices we use to explore presence, trust, communication and connection.

If something in you is quietly thinking,

"I would love to experience that..."

listen to it.

That might just be your little seed.

Come and experience Karuah Horses Wildflower Connection and discover what becomes possible when you stop trying to have all the answers and simply give yourself permission to connect.

Ready to experience the connection for yourself?

You don’t need horse experience.

You don’t need to arrive feeling confident, calm or certain.

You simply need to come as you are.

Karuah Horses Wildflower Connection sessions are now available, offering you time amongst the horses and nature to slow down, become present and explore connection in a gentle, grounded way.

If you’ve been craving space away from the noise, an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, or you’re simply curious about what a horse might teach you when you take the time to listen, we would love to welcome you.
