And what happens when you visit Gather & Graze in the Wildflower Field?
Coffee? Cake? Art? A Creative Bar?
Yes to all of it.
But Gather & Graze is probably a little different from what you're imagining.
If you've heard the words Gather & Graze Art Café and wondered...
“What exactly is an art café?”
You're not alone.
Maybe you're imagining an art class where everyone sits in front of an easel painting the same picture.
Perhaps you're wondering whether you need to book.
Or whether you have to create something.
Maybe you've already decided:
That sounds lovely... but I'm not really an arty person.
So before you talk yourself out of coming, let me explain.
Because Gather & Graze isn't somewhere you have to arrive knowing how to create.
It's not somewhere you have to sign up for a class every time you visit.
And you certainly won't be handed a paintbrush at the door.
Gather & Graze is our little Art Café growing in the Wildflower Field — a place to gather, make yourself a coffee, sit amongst the flowers and, if you feel like it, create.
Think of it as your favourite cosy café...
with a creative little wildflower growing through the middle of it.
First things first: Gather & Graze isn't a traditional café
Gather & Graze lives within the Wildflower Field.
Some days we'll open the field for coffee, creativity and wandering.
Sometimes you'll come for a gathering, workshop or special event.
There may be mornings around the Gathering Table, creative days, flower days, seasonal gatherings and beautiful little experiences we haven't even dreamed up yet.
The field doesn't need to be open every day to be somewhere you can belong.
Meet the Creative Bar
One of the things I'm most excited about at Gather & Graze is our Creative Bar.
Rather than always needing to book into a formal workshop, you'll be able to choose from creative experiences available in the café.
Think of it a little like ordering from a menu...
except instead of choosing only what you'd like to eat, you can also choose what you'd like to make.
Depending on what's available when you visit, you might discover things such as:
collage, journaling, watercolour, beads, botanical projects, simple make-and-takes or other creative invitations.
We'll change things and introduce new ideas too, because part of the fun should be wondering:
“What can we make today?”
Choose something that catches your eye.
Collect what you need.
Take it to your table.
Order a drink.
And create at your own pace.
No rushing.
No trying to keep up with the person beside you.
No worrying that you've done Step Four before Step Three.
Just making.
What if I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing?
Perfect.
You're exactly the kind of person we're creating this for.
You don't have to identify as creative.
You don't need to know how to draw.
You don't need fancy supplies.
You don't need to understand techniques.
And your finished creation does not need to look like anybody else's.
Gather & Graze isn't about teaching everyone to create the right way.
It's about helping you feel comfortable enough to have a go.
Choose the pink.
Add another flower.
Rip the paper.
Paint over it.
Change your mind.
See what happens.
Sometimes the most beautiful things grow when we stop trying so hard to make them perfect.
Then there's The Gathering Table
Some tables are simply tables.
But I think some tables become part of our stories.
The kitchen table where everyone somehow ends up talking.
Grandma's table.
The table where birthdays were celebrated.
The table where someone announced the big news.
The table where coffee went cold because the conversation was too good.
Or you picked up your cup to take a sip and its empty..
That's the feeling I want around The Gathering Table.
A place for creativity, conversation and connection.
Sometimes there may be something happening around it.
Other times, it may simply be where people gather.
Because despite the word art being in Art Café, Gather & Graze isn't only about what we're making with our hands.
It's also about what happens when people gather around a table.
Wander outside to the Wildflower Field
And then...
there's the garden.
Because of course there had to be a garden.
Gather & Graze isn't somewhere I want you to feel like you need to rush in, drink your coffee and leave.
The garden is part of the experience.
A place to sit.
Talk.
Eat.
Create.
Bring the family.
Enjoy the sunshine.
And simply stay awhile.
There will be little corners of the Wildflower Field to discover — places to sit, create, gather, breathe and simply be.
And just like any garden, they'll continue to grow and change with the seasons.
What about the kids?
Little hands need somewhere to create too.
Our Little Wildflower space is being designed with our smaller visitors in mind — a place where imagination, sensory play and creativity can grow.
Because children already understand something many adults have forgotten.
They don't ask:
“Am I creative enough to do this?”
They simply begin.
And perhaps while they're playing, the grown-ups might remember how to do that too.
And sometimes, Gather & Graze will become something else entirely
Not every visit will look the same.
There will also be special reasons to come back.
Gatherings.
Creative workshops.
Seasonal experiences.
Beautiful evenings.
Food.
Creativity.
Conversation.
And experiences designed to bring people together.
Some you'll book ahead.
Others you'll discover as they're announced.
That's part of what I love about this idea.
Gather & Graze isn't meant to be experienced only once.
You might come one morning for coffee.
Return with a friend to create.
Come to a workshop another weekend.
Join us for a special gathering.
Bring your daughter.
Bring your mum.
Gather the girls.
Every visit can be a little different.
So... what happens on my first visit?
Honestly?
It can be as simple as this.
Drive through the gate.
Leave the rush of the world behind.
Wander into the Wildflower Field.
Make yourself a coffee at Gather & Graze.
Have a look through the Creative Bar.
Choose something that catches your eye.
Find a seat at the Gathering Table, beneath a tree or amongst the flowers.
Create if you feel like creating.
Wander if you feel like wandering.
Talk. Laugh. Journal. Make. Breathe.
There is no correct way to Gather & Graze.
And that's rather the point.
What should I bring?
You.
That's really it.
You don't need an art kit tucked under your arm.
You don't need an apron.
You don't need to arrive with a creative idea.
And you definitely don't need to bring confidence.
We'll help with the rest.
You might bring a friend.
Or you might decide you'd rather come by yourself and spend a quiet hour creating.
Both are welcome.
More than a café
Gather & Graze isn't really the destination.
The Wildflower Field is.
Gather & Graze is the little Art Café within it.
The Creative Bar is where you play.
The Gathering Table is where you connect.
The flowers are where you wander.
And the Wildflower Soul Sanctuary is where another kind of connection can begin.
All of it is held together by the same idea:
Calm. Create. Connect.
Ready for your first Gather & Graze?
You don't need to wait for a workshop.
You don't need to know how to make anything.
And you definitely don't need to call yourself creative.
Just come.
Come for the coffee.
Stay for the creativity.
Or come for the creativity and accidentally stay for the cake.
Either works beautifully.
We can't wait to welcome you into the world of Gather & Graze.
